It’s holiday season, which means lots of yummy carbs and lots of sweets — both a good thing and a bad thing! Post Thanksgiving and before the holiday parties kick off, I try to incorporate lots of leafy greens and keep my diet extra clean to reset it and counter the bad. One of the best ways I’ve found to sneak in those greens is with SMOOTHIES. You can load ’em up to pack a healthy punch, while maintaining a delicious taste.

Here’s a recipe for our go-to smoothie this holiday season.


Kiwi, Banana + Swiss Chard Smoothie

(recipe via Elizabeth’s cookbook, Eating Purely)

vegan, gluten-free

1 banana

2 kiwi

1 cup Swiss chard

1/2 cup almond milk

1/2 blood orange

1 cup ice

1 tbsp chia seeds

Blend all ingredients together in high-speed blender.
