Purely Elizabeth
is a Proud Certified B Corp
B Corps are better businesses
Every year, we set aside the month of March to celebrate B Corps. Purely Elizabeth became a B Corp in 2015 in order to join an innovative and inspiring community, and make a positive impact as we do what we love. We believe that surrounding ourselves with like-minded companies that are passionate about great purpose, higher standards, progress and sustainability, will help us grow and hold ourselves accountable, while staying true to our core values. We are a proud Certified B Corporation — alongside admirable companies such as Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s and Seventh Generation, who use business as a force for good!
What is a b Corp?
When we think of the letter B, we think of the word better. B Corporations do better and more for the planet and its people by using the power of our business to improve social and environmental problems— adhering to a triple bottom line of caring for our community, our workers, and our environment. Certified B Corps are leading a global movement to redefine success in business. By voluntarily meeting higher standards of transparency, accountability, and performance, Certified B Corps are distinguishing themselves in a cluttered marketplace by offering a positive vision of a better way to do business.
Inclusive Economy
B Corps are businesses work to build stronger communities, more inclusive and equitable companies, and a healthier planet. We set the standard for a better way to do business.
Collective Action Toward Carbon Neutrality
We're on a mission to do business better— and our collective impact is making a big difference! B Corps are shifting our practices to reduce our carbon footprints. In fact, B Corps are 250% more likely to be carbon neutral than regular companies! At Purely Elizabeth, we created a Drive Less Program that rewards our employees that opt for environmentally modes of transportation (biking, walking, carpooling), and we're constantly evaluating our supply chain to minimize our carbon footprint.
Better Together
When we work together, we have the power to create something better. That's why we believe in collaborating over competition. A a B Corp, we love to work and collaborate with other B Corps, such as Thrive Market, Frankie & Jo's, Good Culture, and Dang. We're also proud to partner with a women-owned coconut sugar supplier in Indonesia, as well as a B Corp-approved granola manufacturing partner.
People First
Being a B Corp means more than a certification, it means we put people first. We always consider our impact on our employees, customers, and communities, because we believe business should be a force for good. As a company, we prioritize employee health + happiness as a main core value, facilitate employee volunteer days to engage with the community, and focus on providing all employees with flexibility, work/life balance, and generous benefit packages.
Inclusive and Sustainable
B Corps care about the planet and future generations. We're taking action to protect the planet. At Purely Elizabeth, we approach sustainability from various angles; we require our building management to uphold green standards (lower water usage, composting, light sensors, reducing overall waste + energy usage), share local resources with remote employees to adapt and uphold sustainable practices, uphold non-GMO Verified certification for the majority of our products, and source organic ingredients whenever possible.
Accountable for the Future
We are all responsible for each other and for future generations with the choices we make. As a Certified B Corporation, we're not just responsible, we're also held accountable. The B Impact assessment measures our impact on customers, community, employees, governance, and the planet. We've met the highest standards of performance, transparency, and accountability. Purely Elizabeth is audited every three years, which requires our team to reevaluate our goals, mission, and direction, to uphold this certification.
