We’re all dealing with the current landscape differently. Some working from home while balancing parenthood, others just trying to get by while managing the uncertainty of this all. As we move into another month of staying indoors, what better time to practice self-love and develop new healthy habits. The first habit being adopting a routine to unwind after a stressful day.

So, how do I relax after a stressful day? With the most amazing bath! There’s nothing better than slipping into a tub of warm water alone with no electronics, work, or other distractions. Of course, I have my go-to favorites that help make this routine so relaxing and I’ll share my secrets as usual. Without further adieu, I’ve curated some of my infallible unwind routine steps below. Enjoy!

Readying Your Space
A bath is more than just warm water run into a porcelain tub, it’s prepared with care and thoughtfulness. Part of bath time relaxation means choosing surroundings that allow you to release built-up tensions of the day and thrive in the moment. Here are some of my favorite items to help do just that.

Bubble Bath:
This one’s a given. A bath becomes a spa with the right bubble bath! And let me tell you, this one from Essential Oils practically screams luxury. Aside from the stress-melting lavender scent, this bubble bath checks a ton of other boxes. Some of which being that it uses no harsh detergents, no sulfates, no parabens, no phthalates, no synthetic fragrance, and no dyes. Hurray!

Bath Salts:
In addition to relaxing your mood with a lavender bubble bath, you’ll need to make sure your muscles are as relaxed as possible. Enter Dr Teal's Restore & Replenish Pure Epsom Salt & Essential Oils Pink Himalayan Mineral Soak! Epsom salt has many amazing benefits including helping to ease aches and soreness from muscle pains, replenish and recharge, and also provide relief from stress. Exactly what we need, right?

Candles:
Ambiance is everything! My favorite tip is to bring vacation mode home with you. Did you know that you can shop your hotel faves? Here’s mine: EDITION Candle. Or light the mood with this delightfully scented candle from LAFCO in the most beautiful hand-blown glass vessel. In my opinion, you really can’t go wrong with either… or dare I say both?

Getting Squeaky Clean
Now that your space is cozier than ever, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Your body is a vessel for your soul to thrive, so needless to say, cleaning your body is caring for your body. To take it one step further, practicing self-care means picking up products that you really love and ultimately will ease your stress load after a long day.

Body Wash:
Indie Lee’s Destress Body Wash is one of my absolute necessities while indulging in a stress-melting soak and for good reason. Made with coconut and hydrolyzed Quinoa, this soothing Patchouli and relaxing Lavender essential oil wash helps to instill a sense of peacefulness in the mind and body. Massage this into your body and feel your stress melt away.

Body Scrub:
Exfoliation is key to getting that nourished soft-skinned feeling after a bath. This is why I created my Lemon Lavender Coconut Sugar Body Scrub! My favorite thing about this scrub is that it’s made with sustainably sourced organic coconut sugar from Indonesia and 5% of our sales return to the women-owned coconut sugar facility.

Face Cleanser:
Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser is the perfect amount of gentle and effective to cleanse the day from your sensitive facial skin. This light oil cleanser transforms into milk upon contact with water, making it oh so easy to rinse off, and leaving skin soft, replenished, and sparkling clean.

Face Mask:
Now that you have a clean canvas, it’s time to mask. Remember when we used to wear avocado masks on our faces and cucumber slices on our eyes? Those were great, but boy were they messy! Think of the sheet mask as an elevated version of that, minus the edible eye patches… This Hydra-Fill Mask happens to be one of my favorite’s considering its moisturizing effects are meant to cancel out any drying effects that stress has had on your face throughout the day.

After the Fact
Caring for yourself after your bath is just as important and during your bath if you want to feel the relaxation effects long into the night. Below are my recommendations for body and face!

Body Oil:
Now that you’ve soaked your body in my luxurious faves, it’s time to lock in that moisture with Indie Lee’s Destress Body Oil. I cannot explain how supple and smooth your skin will feel after just one pump, so you’ll have to try it for yourself.

Serums:
Unfortunately, we tend to show our stress through our face, which is why this part of the body should get all the love you have to give! Here are two serums that work wonders. Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical which is great for protecting against the damage that tension brings naturally and Deep Repair Eye Serum targets the look of lines, dark circles, and puffiness. If you want to look as though you got eight hours of sleep… this is for you.
